ABOUT US

Tahuamanu’s operations began in the early 1990s. The story started a little earlier, in 1989, when a group of entrepreneurs — many of them from the coffee sector — arrived in Cobija to explore the potential of settling in the region and entering the Brazil-nut business.

At the time, most of the Brazil nuts gathered around Cobija were exported as raw material to Belém, Brazil. The region lacked both the capacity to purchase everything local collectors harvested and the skilled workforce needed to process it in Pando. We set out to change that — investing in modern technology and industrial processing systems while creating lasting job opportunities across the area.
